Transportation

It is highly advised that you purchase a vehicle if you plan to study more than one year

at UNT.  Having a car will provide a means for shopping and getting around Denton.

Without a car, running errands and shopping will be difficult.

If you plan to stay less than one year and do not wish to purchase a car, a bicycle would

be a great alternative.  Because of the close proximity to some shopping centers in

town, buying groceries and basic necessities won’t be a problem.  However, if you need

to buy other stuff you may need to catch a ride on the bus or carpool with a friend who has a

    car.

Another alternative to not owning a car or bicycle would be to ride the local bus system.

Over the last few years, the Denton County Transportation Authority has expanded the

bus service that encompasses the majority of Denton’s hot spots as well as a commuter

    bus to Dallas.
